SweetHearts for Kids in Wenatchee a Sweet Success!

Children's Home Society of Washington's (CHSW) Wenatchee office held its 10th annual SweetHearts for Kids luncheon on Wednesday, April 27 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. The office provides vital services to children and families in the North Central Washington area.

The luncheon, presented by Washington Trust Bank with support from the 2011 Champion for Children, Kibble & Prentice, along with additional sponsors and donors, raised nearly $57,000 to benefit children and families in the region. Nearly 400 attendees were in the audience were inspired by a keynote address from Susan Dreyfus, Secretary of the Department of Social and Health Services, and Denise Revels Robinson from the Children's Administration. Both speakers were introduced by 12th District State Representative, Mike Armstrong. Representative Armstrong noted how their common goal to support the works of children and families is vital to the success in the region.

"Children's Home Society has many friends who are generous with their financial support and who care deeply about meeting the needs of children and families in our community."

"All of us in the Wenatchee office are so grateful for such a show of support from our community," says Doug Head, Community Service Manager. "Children's Home Society has many friends who are generous with their financial support and who care deeply about meeting the needs of children and families in our community. We presented an interesting and inspiring program with our speakers – a highly successful 10th anniversary SweetHearts For Kids luncheon."
Children's Home Society's very own Tammie Pauly shared how she was adopted as an infant through the agency, and with the help of CHSW's Search and Reunion department, reunited with her birth mother as an adult.

Each year a SweetHearts for Kids award is presented to an organization or individual that made a significant impact to Children's Home Society over the year. This year the award was presented to Keith Wiggins of Boswell's Furniture for his on-going financial contributions and promotions that benefit CHSW services.
