SweetHearts for Kids benefit celebrates longtime Wenatchee director

The 12th annual SweetHearts for Kids benefit luncheon will honor Wenatchee’s Regional Director Douglas Head who will retire this summer after serving more than 30 years with Children's Home Society of Washington (CHSW).

This special event takes place from noon to 1 p.m. April 17 at the Wenatchee Convention Center, 121 N. Wenatchee Ave.

Douglas Head has served as director of the Wenatchee office since 1984 and has remained a dedicated advocate for children and families with CHSW and through numerous other community organizations.

CHSW President Sharon Osborne will serve as the event’s keynote speaker where she will discuss children and families issues from a state, national and international perspective.

In addition to her time with CHSW, she has held leadership positions with other state, national and international organizations that work on child welfare issues. In 2006, she was appointed liaison to the United Nations representing the International Forum for Child Welfare, which holds consultative status to the U.N. Economic and Social Council in New York and Geneva.
