On June 21, Burst for Prosperity received the Change Agents of the Year Ward at the Washington Asset Building Coalition’s (WABC) annual conference in Yakima. The conference was a two-day event and focused on the subjects of microenterprise, housing, savings innovations, financial education, asset building policy, building strong coalitions, and more. 

“Burst for Prosperity is unmatched for their focus on the future and big picture systems change,” says Rebeca Potasnik, Executive Director of the WABC. “They also have an amazing ability to hold to that vision while methodically implementing the steps to get there.”    

In the last year, Burst for Prosperity worked with the WABC on two large scale projects.  Burst developed and led financial coaching trainings across the state, bringing a new approach to client interaction that will move us from simply delivering services to empowering people.  Burst also conceptualized and published the Prosperity Blueprint, a report that maps out a policy vision to build, protect, and leverage assets to strengthen the state’s middle class and support our low-income residents towards financial stability.”
