Anthony Godoy spent his childhood in Southern California until a destructive home environment brought him 950 miles north to Children's Home Society of Washington's Cobb Center for Youth in Seattle. He was 8 years old. Under the protective and supportive guidance of legendary counselors Scott Hanouer, Bob Jones, and Katie Blue, Anthony started to feel safe again. His counselors showed him how to play the guitar, taught him how to shoot and develop photos (Cobb had a darkroom at the time), and planted the seeds for a lifelong career in the creative arts.

"I learned to look up to the people at Cobb," states Anthony. "At that age I was looking for someone to admire instead of fear. The counselors were interesting, funny, smart, fast, tall - all the things the kids wanted our own parents to be."

"I learned to look up to the people at Cobb."

In 1978, Anthony left Cobb was able to reunite with his family. They moved to Bellingham but not long after, returned to their native California in 1981. After high school, Anthony's creative spirit led him to a degree in Communications from Western State College in Colorado. During school breaks, Anthony worked a series of odd jobs as a windsurfing instructor, newspaper reporter, stage hand, and a stint at a fly fishing company. His quest for adventure followed him after college. Anthony traveled to Vietnam, Hawaii, New York City, Thailand, and ultimately Europe, where he ended meeting his wife, Iulia, in Madrid.

Anthony is currently a digital media producer, photographer, and blogger and lives in the Leschi neighborhood in Seattle. He and Iulia moved back to the area recently because of his fond memories of the city, many of which stem from his life-changing experience at Cobb.
