| Position Summary |
The Community Foundation Manager directs the major gift program in the Walla Walla area of the state, representing the breadth of Children's Home Society in that area. This individual will develop and execute long and short-term strategies to secure major and planned gifts ($10,000 or more) in concert with Community Service Managers and the CHSW Resource Development team. Primary responsibilities will be implemented through regular and frequent visits with constituents throughout the Walla Walla community. Participation in evening and weekend activities will be an important part of the position.

| Duties and
Responsibilities |
- Prepare an annual plan in consultation with the Resource Development Team with an emphasis on adding value to efforts in the region;
- Implement major gift and special event activity in the local community and take action to increase both as appropriate with the goal of increasing local giving by 10-15% annually and to increase local donor base to 1,000 or more constituents;
- Aggressively identify and qualify new major and planned giving prospects;
- Coordinate and facilitate activity in the community that will directly result in prospect identification, engagement and successful solicitations, including advising the VP for Resource Development and the Director of Major Gifts on the culture, expectations and needs of CHSW's constituents in that community;
- Staff the Foundation Community Council for the community and recruit and sustain a strong volunteer network in the region to multiply efforts in prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation as well as to provide expanded opportunities for key prospects to engage with CHSW leaders and one another;
- Provide input on Foundation Community Council recruitment efforts;
- Lead the major and planned gift solicitation process in the community by focusing on prospects under personal management and by supporting and facilitating solicitations directed by other staff;
- Coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship activities in the community.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience;
- Five or more years of development experience, with at least 2 years of major gift experience.
- Experience in higher education preferred;
- Sound knowledge of laws, practices and philosophy of charitable giving;
- Demonstrated track record of financial development and/or sales productivity in a complex work environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse array of personalities under pressure and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Office Suite and Outlook.

| Position Summary |
This individual will be trained in a core curriculum developed by Dr. John Gottman, aimed to enhance relationship quality for married and unmarried couples with a lower income and who are eligible for Head Start/Early Head Start. This core curriculum consists of 12 weekly groups of 8 - 10 couples meeting each week for 2 hours. Each session will consist of facilitating discussion, providing information and teaching a new skill to integrate into their relationship. Areas targeted by this curriculum are building intimacy, reducing conflict, coping with stress, kids, and creating shared meaning in their relationship. Groups will be lead by a male and female facilitator team. |

Responsibilities |
- Co-facilitate the 12-week core curriculum for couples, with annual booster sessions
- Through the curriculum, provide couples with the information and skills to help improve their relationship.
- Serve as a resource and support for couples during each group.
- Videotape all group sessions.
- Record attendance at each group session.
- Follow-up with absent members to encourage continued participation, offering make-up sessions when appropriate.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Master degree or equivalent in psychology or related field.
- Must be male and speak fluent Spanish.
- Must have relevant interviewing experience.
- Experience conducting therapy with couples or groups, preferred.
- Must be able to work well in a team and work with individuals from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- A demonstrated ability to respond quickly and appropriately to difficult situations.
- Experience working with lower income couples and children, preferred.

| Position Summary |
With the Early Head Start Program Manager, oversees the program development, management and service delivery for Early Head Start services to children and families in the local community. Provides guidance and leadership to staff members who work both in a child center setting and home environments. Ensures the effective and efficient utilization of Early Head Start staff, fiscal resources and facilities.

- Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to Home Visitors and Advocates.
- Works with EHS staff and families on the provision of comprehensive quality Early Head Start services.
- Provides for quality assurance in center-based and home-based services, including a parent evaluation component.
- Works closely with a variety of community organizations to ensure a coordinated family/child plan for EHS families and coordinates service planning and provisions with participating service providers.
- Assists Program Manager in organization and implementation and appropriate operations of program systems, i.e., intake, case assignment to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Participates regularly in management team meetings.
- Completes required documentation and reports for grant reporting purposes; information; compiles information for quarterly reports.
- Participates in assessing community needs. Coordinates with other agencies.
- Promotes program activities that increase program visibility in community.
- Supervises staff including interviewing, hiring, orientating, and training, appraising, and disciplining. May also supervise volunteers, students, and interns.
- Conducts weekly supervisory meetings with child development and family support staff to review case management and work assignments.
- Maintains a working knowledge of children’s learning plans, individual family plans and activities for all family participants.
- Provides regular performance evaluations of staff.
- Assesses training needs and coordinates ongoing staff training for child development and family support staff.
- Assists staff and parents in facilitation of Parent Committee meetings.
- Oversees day-to-day programmatic requirements and. ensures that EHS staff maintain appropriate security procedures while performing duties at either the family support centers or in individual home visits.
- Ensures that all records and statistics are appropriately maintained and reported to ensure compliance with governmental grant regulations.
- Make recommendations to the EHS Program Manager for purchase of equipment and supplies for the child development site.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

- Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education or related field plus five years’ experience providing direct child care staff supervision/training and developing education curriculum or a Master’s degree in education, social work, or related field.
- Minimum five years' supervisory experience.
- Experience working directly with children and families of targeted population.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience, which reflects progressive responsibilities in hiring, firing, training, performance appraisal, conflict resolution, and disciplinary counseling.
- May require additional specialized training in early childhood development and family development.
- Demonstrated successful community organizing or ethnic community outreach experience.
- Possess strong human relation’s skills to communicate effectively with diverse staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Proficient in MS Windows, Office Suite and Outlook.
- Requires an ability to work independently, organize and prioritize responsibility.
