POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides first line helpdesk phone support for Children’s Home Society. Solves problems and answers questions related to Office and other software. Provides training on the agency’s software and procedures. Assists with purchasing of IT equipment, services and supplies for all program/departments. Provides administrative support to the IT department. Functions as backup to Support Analyst II.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responds to PC, telephone, cellphone, printer and copier support needs via phone and/or email and escalates problems requiring analytical functions to the appropriate IT support person.
- Responsible for orientating new CHSW staff to PCs, general network procedures, IT policies, IT best practices, telephones, voice mail and Outlook.
- Solve problems and answer questions related to Office software.
- Create and present in-house training sessions for Office and agency software.
- Purchases all copier-, postage meter-, printer- and other IT-supplies for CHSW.
- Statewide IT vendor contact for all office machinery and their services.
- Manages cell phone and telephone accounts, prepares bills for A/P.
- Maintains hardware and software inventory.
- Coordinates the contract process; works with IT Director and Contracts Manager (Director of Administration) to establish new accounts; leases, maintenance agreements, maintains contracts and records for the IT department.
- Coordinates, updates and maintains the CHSW’s Statewide information regarding the IT department.
- Documents and maintains IT procedures, protocols and policies in conjunction with other IT personnel.
- Assist with purchases of all approved computer, copier and printer hardware, telephones, cellphones and software for CHSW.
- Assists in the troubleshooting of telephone systems and services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge of Windows XP, 2000 Pro, Outlook and Microsoft Office Professional.
- Experience facilitating and coordinating training.
- Adequate work experience needed in purchasing and account management.
- Keen interest in problem determination.
- A basic understanding of email exchange is a plus.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn new software, hardware and techniques and be able to prioritize and work efficiently under a variety of conditions.
- Organization and follow through are essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures is required.
- Multilingual language skills a plus.
- Able to lift 50 pounds, and carry 25 pounds.
- Some travel is required.

Children’s Home Society of Washington’s Therapeutic Foster Care program provides therapeutic foster care services to boys and girls aged 5 – 17.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages the operations of the Therapeutic Foster Care program. Supervises four staff, monitors program/department performance and is responsible for program compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. The incumbent also provides preliminary needs assessments, coordinates treatment planning, and provides case management services for Wards of the Court in our care. Some of these functions may be designated to staff. The incumbent screens, accepts and declines referrals, and arranges hospitalizations when necessary. Conducts community liaison to facilitate changes and influences quality of client care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
- Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to program/department staff.
- Ensures that all records and statistics are appropriately maintained.
- Organizes and ensures appropriate operations of program/department systems.
- Develops and ensures implementation of program development, evaluation, and public relations plan.
- Holds fiscal responsibility for managing program/department budget.
- Monitors all funding and other contracts for compliance, concerns, and opportunities and informs the Community Service Manager of any pertinent information.
Administration/Planning
- Participates in regional administrative activities: i.e., management meetings, regional budget preparation.
- Participates in and responds to the regional strategic planning process.
Supervision
- Hires and supervises all program staff.
- Maintains regular supervisory meetings with individual staff to review consumers’ cases and work assignments.
- Maintains a working knowledge of activities for all consumers.
- Provides an annual evaluation of all staff and makes personnel recommendations to the Community Service Manager.
Direct Services
- May provide a variety of direct services to consumers.
- Promotes program activities and increases program visibility through community, state, and national activities.
- May participate in coordinated research projects with other appropriate professionals and groups, as individually approved.
Other
- Assists the Community Service Manager with other related activities and duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties listed above, clinical programs require the following duties and responsibilities:
- Clinical supervision to program staff.

- May coordinate psychiatric and legal consultation with program staff.

- Two years demonstrated supervisory experience, which reflects progressive responsibilities in hiring, firing, training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution and disciplinary counseling.

- May require specialized training in management, administration, and/or planning.

- Works to foster an atmosphere of support and safety for participants, staff and volunteers, including de-escalating potentially violent situations.
- Works with other staff to maintain cleanliness throughout the home; office areas, storage rooms, and common areas, including cleaning as necessary.
- Provides crisis intervention, advocacy-based counseling, information and referral, and other support services to program participants.
- Provides back-up assistance as needed for program participants.
- Answers telephones, take messages, and provide information and referrals to callers seeking assistance.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares and serves food in accordance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), or other applicable federal, state, and local regulations guidelines. Provides quality food service to children and staff using accepted menu planning, purchasing, food production, and food service principals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Food Service: Adequate servings in family-style meal service will be provided to ensure that each child will receive portions to meet CACFP meal pattern requirements. Appropriate utensils will be used to serve standardized portions of pre-prepared menu items to meet CACFP meal pattern requirements.
- Sanitation and Safety: A routine cleaning schedule will be established that complies with requirements as specified under local, state, and federal laws/regulations. Good personal hygiene and grooming will be demonstrated included dress, appearance and personal habits. Proper hand-washing procedures will be utilized. Safe and sanitary conditions will be maintained in the storage, preparation, and service of food and any and all safety hazards will be reported to the center management. Refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage areas will be inspected regularly to maintain safe and sanitary food and supply storage. Food will be maintained at correct temperatures during food preparation and food service to meet sanitation requirements.
- Communication and Management: The food service specialist will work cooperatively with center staff and management and will assist in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest for the children in the center. The food service specialist will utilize sound problem solving skills to appropriately maintain an efficient food production system.
- Record Keeping: Food production records and meal count sheets will be maintained according to local, state and federal regulations.
- Head Start Performance Standards: Performance standards will be met in regards to food preparation, menu planning, food service and nutrition education.
- Other Duties as Assigned: The food service specialist will perform other duties as assigned by center management when appropriate and needed.

- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds. Current Food Handler’s Permit.

CHSW operates programs in six core service areas: Early Learning, Family Support, Out of Home Care, Adoption, Child and Family Counseling, and Advocacy. The agency has been in continuous operation as a private not-for-profit Washington business for 112 years.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages Early Learning in South King County and Walla Walla, in Washington state: Head Start, Early Head Start, and Court-based drop in child care centers. Directly supervises four program managers and an administrative assistant. Indirectly supervises a staff of 55 in six locations. Responsible for compliance with federal, state, county regulations and licensing standards for high-quality early learning programs. Oversees grant applications and reporting. Participates in agency and community efforts to improve and expand services to young children and their families.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Social Work, or equivalent, Masters degree preferred. At least five years experience in Head Start and/or Early Head Start federally-funded programs, with an expert understanding of applicable federal performance standards. At least seven years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience, including hiring and disciplinary procedures, budget development, quality improvement, program planning, team building, skill in presenting information clearly and succinctly, and the ability to inspire action for our agency’s vision: A world where all children thrive. Must possess moderate skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Considerable experience in service delivery to multi-cultural and low-income families. Excellent communication skills in oral and written English. Ability to insure and drive your own vehicle for work (mileage is reimbursed), and to travel occasionally to Eastern Washington and out-of- state conferences.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides comprehensive child development services to children and parents enrolled in program. Conducts child developments assessments, develops individualized learning plans for children in classroom and works with children in center-based programs to promote their development. Conducts monthly Parent-Teacher conferences and home visits. Attends parent education activities. Prepares detailed and accurate reporting documents. Performs and oversees daily on-site childcare duties. As a team leader, provides support and mentoring to other teachers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily Program: Works with teaching team to construct a daily schedule of classroom routines and activities. Prepares and implements lesson plans that are based on each child’s developmental needs and includes health and nutrition activities following Head Start Performance standards and the CHSW Early Head Start Work Plan.
- Interaction with Children and Families: Interacts positively with all children to support their individual learning and meets their emotional needs. Communicates regularly and respectfully with families and involves them in the education program.
- Transition of Families: Meets with families and child’s past teacher as they enter the program to review developmental information and as they leave the program for transition of development issues.
- Home Visits: Conducts a minimum of two family visits and two conferences per year.
- Individualizing: Makes ongoing written observations of individual children. Based on these and other information, develops and individual learning plan (ILP) for each child within six weeks of school entry. Provides a curriculum and environment, including a multi-cultural environment, which meets the needs of every child, including those with pre-existing plans and disabilities.
- Developmental Screening and Assessment: Coordinates and performs child developmental screenings and three assessments to evaluate the child’s development within 45 calendar days. Re-screens and makes referrals as necessary.
- Training Assistants and Volunteers: Provides on the job technical support to assistant educators. Recruits and trains volunteers for the classroom.
- Interdisciplinary Planning: Participates as a team member in interdisciplinary planning for children and families, and other cross-component coordination efforts.
- Parent Involvement: Participates in, encourages and supports family involvement in all aspects of the program. Contributes to and attends at least one parent meeting per year.
- Record Keeping: Maintains complete records on each child, stored in a confidential manner.
- Staff Training: Attends regional trainings and other staff in-service trainings.
- Meals: With assistant teacher, plans sets-up and prepares meals as appropriate; eats family style meals with the children.
- Expected to attend evening meetings.
- Expected to visit parents/families in the home, a minimum of twice a year.
- Provides supervision on regularly scheduled field trips.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide leadership and direction for the development and implementation of Early Childhood Development Center and Home-based comprehensive family services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in organization, planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of Family Support services, including contributing to the annual revision of the service plans and planning for program expansion and scope of services aligning with mission, vision, values and agency-wide strategic plan.
- Provides ongoing leadership, technical assistance and support to Early/Head Start Family staff. Contribute to the development and delivery of integrated social services to children and families by collaborating with other coordinators in providing additional support.
- Provide Mental Health Consultation to EHS Program through classroom observation, brief assessment and staff consultation.
- Provide ongoing expertise and assistance in the development and implementation of quality services through involvement with Policy Council, Parent Committees and Health Services Advisory Committee.
- Enhance collaborative relations with community social service, health, and mental health agencies and organizations relating to low-income families through regular contact. This would be done through providing recruitment materials, resources, small group meetings and other personal contact time.
- Support team as they work with families in identifying family strengths, health care and social service needs. Monitor and provide support to Family Advocates and other service providers as they develop individual family plans. Provide resources to team for on-going and emergent family needs.
- Provide leadership to assure that socialization groups, parent programs, training and center activities occur on a regular basis.
- Participate as a team member in interdisciplinary planning (Team Reviews, HS monthly staffings, Family Resource Team meetings and individualized family meetings) for children and families.
- Support Family Advocate Team through regularly scheduled supervisions and/or one-on-one technical assistance. Monitor team members Consumer Records. Provide feedback on Job Performance through Performance Evaluation Process.
