BACKGROUND:
Children’s Home Society of Washington is the state’s oldest statewide, private, not-for-profit organization serving children and families. Our mission is to develop healthy children, create strong families, build engaged communities, and to speak and advocate for children. Each year, the Society serves thousands of children and parents across Washington through a variety of programs.

We are seeking an individual to join CHSW who believes in its mission and is passionate about the services we provide to our consumers. The person must be eager to call into play his/her skills to make a difference in the lives of children and families.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides ongoing clinical and/or case management services to a diverse CHSW consumer population including specialized treatment services in a variety of settings. Conducts intake, assessment, and diagnosis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts initial consumer screening intake and assessment.
  • Assesses and determines consumer diagnosis/service need and develops treatment/service plans and/or makes appropriate community referral.
  • Implements treatment/service plan using a variety of therapeutic/educational interventions in a variety of locations and settings.
  • Performs treatment/service evaluations and follow-up.
  • Performs routine administrative duties associated with a clinical setting.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with appropriate community resources.
  • Assists supervisor with other related activities/duties assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is required plus 1 to 4 years’ clinical practice with children, youth, and families.
  • Knowledge of child, adolescent, and family development.
  • Understanding of various treatment principles and interventions.
  • Requires current Washington State Counselor Registration.
  • Must meet requirements or already be certified as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, Office Suite and Outlook.
  • A valid Washington State driver’s license is required.
  • Proof of physical exam, including a TB skin test, must be on file. For those who have tested positive, a statement from a doctor or a chest x-ray must be provided.
  • Proof of CPR and First Aid Certification is required.
  • HIV/AIDS and Bloodborne pathogens training required.
Note: Must have 1-3 year’s experience to pass licensure exam to progress to Clinical Specialist II.

BACKGROUND:

Children's Home Society of Washington seeks an individual with uncommon energy and a passion for serving children and families to be a leader within a growing development team.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a successful record of fundraising and management achievement for a minimum period of seven years, including suitable knowledge of major gift concepts; campaign experience; background in leading staff; strong communication skills, be team-oriented; and have an appreciation for the mission of a social service organization serving children and families. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Foundation Manager directs the major gift program in the Spokane area of the state, representing the breadth of Children's Home Society in that area. This individual will develop and execute long and short-term strategies to secure major and planned gifts ($10,000 or more) in concert with Community Service Managers and the CHSW Resource Development team. Primary responsibilities will be implemented through regular and frequent visits with constituents throughout the Spokane community. Participation in evening and weekend activities will be an important part of the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare an annual plan in consultation with the Resource Development Team with an emphasis on adding value to efforts in the region;
  • Implement major gift and special event activity in the local community and take action to increase both as appropriate with the goal of increasing local giving by 10-15% annually and to increase local donor base to 1,000 or more constituents;
  • Aggressively identify and qualify new major and planned giving prospects;
  • Coordinate and facilitate activity in the community that will directly result in prospect identification, engagement and successful solicitations, including advising the VP for Resource Development and the Director of Major Gifts on the culture, expectations and needs of CHSW's constituents in that community;
  • Staff the Foundation Community Council for the community and recruit and sustain a strong volunteer network in the region to multiply efforts in prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation as well as to provide expanded opportunities for key prospects to engage with CHSW leaders and one another;
  • Provide input on Foundation Community Council recruitment efforts;
  • Lead the major and planned gift solicitation process in the community by focusing on prospects under personal management and by supporting and facilitating solicitations directed by other staff;
  • Coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship activities in the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Five or more years of development experience, with at least 2 years of major gift experience.
  • Experience in higher education preferred;

  • Demonstrated track record of financial development and/or sales productivity in a complex work environment;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse array of personalities under pressure and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows, Office Suite and Outlook.
